1. Policy on Harassment and Discrimination
The American Genetic Association hosts meetings designed to facilitate scientific exchange and networking among geneticists worldwide. The organization prioritizes creating an inclusive environment free from harassment, discrimination, or violence.
Prohibited Conduct
Unacceptable behavior includes (but is not limited to) unwanted verbal attention, unwanted touching, intimidation, stalking, shaming, hurtful sarcasm or bullying. Discrimination based on gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, race, religion, national origin, or ethnicity is similarly prohibited.
Reporting and Enforcement
Participants experiencing violations should contact designated Safety Officers or AGA Allies at meetings. The organization commits to maintaining confidentiality in investigations unless legally required to disclose information. Organizers reserve authority to enforce the code through warnings, expulsion without refund, or future meeting bans.
2. Policy on Liability
The AGA shall not be held liable for personal injury, property damage, theft or damage of any kind suffered by the participants at or in connection with an AGA meeting.
